The best reason to be a successful student at school is that you will do less homework, assignments and exam revision at home.
That’s right!
Work your butt off at school and you won’t need to use many of my study tips at all.
I am not asking you to be perfect or boring. But I am asking you to be polite and respectful to your teacher and your class mates.
Below are the first three behaviors that please teachers and are a good solid foundation to being successful at school.
1. Be on time for class and appointments
Successful students don’t dawdle between classes. Aim to be at your lesson before your teacher arrives. And if you have a meeting with the school counselor or another teacher make sure you are on time. This is especially true when meeting teachers during lunch time. Oh, and never be late to a detention.
2. Be ready to begin when class begins
Being ready for class is not just being in the room. A successful student is at their desk, looking and listening to the teacher with all books open and equipment ready.
3. Be Visable
Be visable and noticed by your teacher for being a successful student. You will be visable if you turn up on time, are ready, are trying to answer questions and quietly doing your work. I am serious. Teachers notice the workers while trying to ignore the class clowns.
This list was found in a great book called “Tools for Learning”. We will continue with 3 more study tips on the next post.
If you follow this list you will be well on your way to getting the most out of each class. You will have listened, participated and answered all questions. And this will make homework, exam revision and assignments easier to complete.
