The school won’t let me change classes and be with my friends.

in School

This is common statement made by many Year 8 and 9 girls.  The question these girls want answered is “Why won’t they let me?”

Well you may not be in the same class as your friends for a number of reasons:

  • The teachers want you separated
  • Someone’s parents want you separated.
  • You aren’t in the same ability group for some subjects
  • You didn’t choose the same courses.

But what I want to know is why you want to be in the class?  Seriously, what do you think you are missing out on?

On average, you see your school friends before and after school and on lunch breaks.  You probably speak to them most nights.  Therefore, you don’t really need to see them every minute of the day.

Trust me!  Socializing is fun.  But don’t worry too much about your timetable.  Don’t complain about it.  You are sure to meet new people in the other classes.
