Organization in the Classroom

This is Part 3 of Back to School Tips for Parents based on a podcast by Peter Walsh.  Check out Part 1 if you want to find ideas on Organizing your Home or Part 2 if you want to find out how organizing students helps them succeed.

The 3 Tips for teachers to keep the classroom organized are:

  • Establish Clear Routines
  • Involved kids with classroom organisation
  • Use words, pictures and color to help organize.

What I liked about the part of the podcast is that the advice was given by a Middle School Teacher.  During my teaching career I have worked with students from Prep to Year 12 and the younger grades all seem to have more organisation in their classroom.  I think all classes, in all year levels should model great organisational strategies in their classrooms.

Do you have any ways you keep your classes tidy and organized?
