If you are a student you know that you need to study. You understand that you have to get the homework done, complete the assignments and study for the tests. And to do that you have to make time to study.
Making Time to Study is not Simple
Making time to study is not:
- Completing a Study Timetable
- Sitting at your desk at that specified time
- And ignoring all other commitments
Making time to study is not that simple. Let me explain.
Example 1: Creating a study timetable
I am the first to admit that study timetables are great. But they are only effective if you spread your time evenly between school, study and fun. And they only work if you follow them. And you will only follow them if you have down time.
Have a look at Your Study Timetable: Change it so that you will follow it. Make sure that you have allocated time to rest and have fun as well as study.
Example 2: Sitting at Desk at Specified Time
Studying is not as simple as sitting at desk and hoping you will be motivated to get that assignment done. You need to be preparing yourself to study before you actually sit at the desk. For example, you might get home from school and play some computer games. You need to give youself a time limit and tell yourself that you will be starting your homework in 30 minutes. By preparing your brain to study, you will be preparing yourself to actually do work when you sit at your desk.
Example 3: Ignore all other commitments
I don’t know about you but I get zero study done when I am worrying about other stuff like jobs or errands I have to do. If you want to be really successful when you study make sure you get all those nagging things done before you start to study.
Good luck with your studying
