Day 27: Recap Daily Plan

September 11, 2009

in Home Organisation

Well done, we are so close to the end.  For the next 3 days we are going to recap the important elements to being organized.

The Daily Plan

This is a reminder of all the tasks you need to do everyday.  You can find blank sheets of the Daily Plan under “Tools”.  I will also be adding a summary sheet and Daily Plans for each day of the week.  So keep an eye out for new Free Resources under Tools.

Here are the basic elements of the Daily Plan

Start-up

  • Open diary
  • Study Folder open and on desk
  • All books and equipment ready
  • Mind Dump
  • Scan the previous ngihts routine
  • Print and fill out Daily Routine

Daily Job

  • Sunday – Organize the week ahead.  Check your calendar and term planner.  Fill in your diary for the new week
  • Monday – Paperwork.  Go through Study Folder, book bag and notebooks.  File all loose paper in correct place.  If you don’t need the paper anymore, throw it out
  • Tuesday – Computer clean-up.  Delete any old emails, websites saved in favourites and documents.  If you want to keep any of these things, organize them into folders
  • Wednesday – Equipment check-up.  Go through all your materials and equipment.  If anything is broken, fix it or throw it out.  If you need more paper or pens, put them on your to-do list to buy, or tell your parents
  • Thursday – Get it Done Now.  Go back through the week and look at what you didn’t do.  Check your study folder.  Pick 5 of them and do them now.  Get them off your list, and stop worrying about them today.
  • Friday - Friday Fun Day.  Enjoy your rest
  • Saturday – Weekly clean.  Clean up base camp, desk and bag.

Homework:  Check your diary and get it done

Assignments:

  • Planning
  • Research
  • Writing
  • Checking

Revision:

  • Note-taking
  • Remembering
  • Cramming

Remember:  You need to complete this activity every night.
