Today we are going to focus on assignments. In fact the whole week will be spent on effective assignments strategies. These strategies will help with organization, making sure the assignment shows the best of your ability, and finally to get that assignment completed on time.
The Criteria Sheet / Assignment Question / Rubric
First find that assignment question. I am sure you were given at least one page from the teacher that explains the assignment. Well find that and put it in your study folder.
Have you read that sheet? If so, you should be able to answer the following:
- Question / Topic
- Due Date
- Type of assignment – speech, report, essay, PowerPoint
Let’s get organized!
I assume you will be working on the assignment both at home and at school. Here are the basic steps when you first get an assignment
- Put one copy of assignment in study folder
- Get a Display Folder or Manilla folder and label it – with your name, assignment title, and subject. (This file can go back and forwards from school to home)
- Set up a folder on your computer with name of subject and assignment (this is where you will save any files)
- Have a memory stick organized as well (you won’t need one for every assignment)
- Mark the due date on Term Planner, if it isn’t their already.
Easy! These are the steps you should do for every assignment. In fact, go through the steps again for every assignment you are completing at the moment.
Trust me, the system works.
