Do you ever notice the contests in supermarkets? You know the ones. Little displays that say write your name and address and put it in a box and you could win a signed cricket bat by Allan Border, or the same tennis racket that Martina Navratilova uses.
I know. I am showing my age now. There are not many contests in supermarkets now but there are plenty on the internet.
Why do Bloggers use Contests?
I personally think bloggers use contests for 4 reasons:
- Thank readers
- Build lists (email or RSS)
- Find new readers (through blog posts, twitter)
- Get more comments on blogs
I think contests are great, and worthwhile. It is a chance for me to try and win something, but also an opportunity to learn the best ways to design a contest. Cause one day I want to run one here.
But this website is important to me. So please be assured that any content, blog, or outside resource I promote, I definately support and respect.
