in Fun ways to Study

Vocabulary and spelling are important.  Too often students spell words incorrectly and fail to use new vocabulary as they don’t know the proper definition of the words.  Here is a strategy that will help you review previously learnt vocabulary as well as providing a list of spelling words to learn.

When to use it?

This is a great strategy to use when studying science, history, geography, economics or even a novel.

How to use it?

Beginning of Unit/During Unit

  • Download Alphabet Vocabulary sheet
  • Every night spend a few minutes reviewing note and write down and topic specific terms that are important

End of Unit

  • Use Alphabet Vocabulary sheet as a revision tool
  • Ask someone to give you a spelling test based on these words – any wrong, study them
  • Use these words and make flash cards – word on front, definition on back, study them
  • Print a blank Alphabet Vocabulary sheet – fill in as many words as possible, check
  • Use each word correctly in a sentence
