Thanks for checking me out via my Twitter profile, @studymentor.  You have reached Study Skills Mentor.  A blog with a lofty purpose – to teach students study skills.

Purpose of the Blog

Study Skills Mentor was created to teach students effective study skills.  When you check out the site you will see specific strategies aimed at helping students finish their homework, assignments and exam preparation easily and effectively.

But the site is not just for students.  I also have information for parents and teachers, still around the same theme – helping teenagers get organized and being successful at school

To be honest, I wasn’t going to join Twitter.  If you check out the research you will see that teenagers (my targeted audience) aren’t really keen on Twitter.

But my audience is more than just teens.  And it has become broader than just those interested in study skills.  Many readers are parents and teachers with an interest in teaching study skills.  But others are interested in blogging and my opinions about this new genre. 

Here are some ways I will use my twitter account:

• Promote new blog posts on Study Skills Mentor
• Highlight my guest posts on other blogs
• Promote great ideas I have seen around the internet
• Ask questions
• Reinforce good blogging strategy
• Connect with teachers and parents
