Here is a post for all the teachers!
The Web has become a great tool and most of us use it on a daily basis. On a very basic level we check out lesson ideas, find free worksheets, and quickly study up on topics we need to teach.
But the web is so much more that that. There is such depth of knowledge, and passion and humour and support. This is especially true in the Edublogger community. As a new blogger I have slowly been introduced to the extraordinary expertise and passion shown by many bloggers.
Edublog Awards
The Edublog Awards are in its 6th year. The purpose of the awards are:
Celebrating the achievements of edubloggers, twitterers, podcasters, video makers, online communities, wiki hosts and other web based users of educational technology.
Here is my list. I read these blogs on a daily basis. These blogs are thought provoking, funny and extremely informative.

Best educational tech blog: The Education Technology Blog
Another great blog for education technology. This blog summarises education technology posts from around the web. Bookmark it today.
Best elearning / corporation blog: Teach Hub
Teach Hub is a community for K – 12 teachers. The reason why I keep getting drawn to this site is its ideas for writing prompts: use You Tube. My students loved writing a commentary to a writing prompt after seeing the classic football manoevre from Glee.
Best educational use of video / visual: Angela Maiers
Angela posts many You Tube videos on her site of mini lessons and presentations. It is a great way for teachers to learn from a truly passionate teacher.
Best educational wiki: Moving Forward – Blogs by Discipline
If you are having difficulty finding some great blogs to read, especially in your subject area then check out Moving Forward (Blogs – Subject Specific). I suggest bookmarking the page.
Best Educational Use of a Virtual World: Tales from the Blog
Really fun way to learn about blogging.
